Ingredients

  • For the Fries:
  • 1 package of frozen crinkle-cut fries

  • For the Fried Chicken Bites:
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

  • For the Buffalo Sauce:
  • ½ cup hot sauce (preferably Frank’s RedHot)

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • For the Homemade Ranch Dressing:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • ¼ cup buttermilk

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • For Garnish:
  • Fresh chives, chopped

Directions

  • Prepare the Fries:
Cook the frozen crinkle-cut fries according to the package instructions until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Fried Chicken Bites:
Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
In a bowl, marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes to tenderize.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Dredge the marinated chicken pieces in the flour mixture, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Prepare the Buffalo Sauce:
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the hot sauce and mix until well combined. Toss the fried chicken bites in the buffalo sauce until evenly coated.
  • Prepare the Homemade Ranch Dressing:
In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk until smooth. Add the chopped parsley, chives, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Assemble the Buffalo Chicken Fries:
Arrange the cooked fries on a serving platter. Top with the buffalo-coated chicken bites. Drizzle generously with the homemade ranch dressing. Garnish with additional chopped chives.
  • Recipe Notes:
Frozen Fries: Using frozen crinkle-cut fries saves time and provides a sturdy base that holds up well under the toppings.
Homemade Ranch Dressing: Making ranch dressing from scratch enhances the freshness and flavor of the dish.
Buffalo Sauce: Frank’s RedHot sauce is recommended for an authentic buffalo flavor, but feel free to adjust the heat level to your preference.
